Womens Build
Since the first Women Build project in 1991, nearly 1,000 Women Build houses have been constructed in the United States and around the world. Each year, 150 or more Women Build homes are constructed. In 2007, Habitat for Humanity/Metro Jackson built its 10th Women Build house in nine years. Women Build provides a building project for the women of Jackson that encourages hands on participation in the construction process. But the benefits go beyond those for the volunteers; construction of Habitat homes help hard-working families achieve affordable housing, creating a better environment for their children and improving the inner-city neighborhoods in which the homes are built. The 2007 Women Build will be kicking off May 12. Contact Amberly Wilson Collins if you are interested in getting your women's group involved in this unique building project. 2006 Women Build Sponsors
