Volunteers serve in all facets of Habitat for Humanity/Metro Jackson’s ministry, from stuffing envelopes and installing landscaping, to selling eggs and building houses. Their tireless efforts help keep costs low for families in need, and allow HFH/MJ to put 90 cents of each $1.00 directly into programs. Volunteers have been and continue to be vital to the success of HFH/MJ’s work; work founded on compassionate people putting their ‘love in action.’ Over HFH/MJ’s 26-year history, an estimated 58,000 volunteers-and-counting have donated their time and talents to their neighbors in need, offering a hand-up through a decent, affordable home. Their efforts represent a value of approximately $2.2 million dollars in donated time over the past quarter century. The selflessness and generosity of these volunteers cannot be overstated: with every wall raised and smile shared, they leave a legacy of hope and faith in a future free from poverty housing. |
