Employer Matching
Many companies match the charitable gifts of their employees. Check with your employer and ask if they will match your contribution to Habitat for Humanity/Metro Jackson.
Gifts of Stocks or Bonds
A charitable gift of stocks or bonds provides an opportunity for tax savings while generously sharing with others. A gift of stock owned for more than one year entitles you to a charitable deduction for the full market value at the time the gift is made. If the stock has appreciated, you also avoid a capital gains tax on the appreciation.
Planned Giving
You can support Habitat through planned gifts, which may qualify for significant tax deductions. Giving options include bequests, charitable gift annuities, and charitable remainder trusts.
Memorials and Honorariums
We will send a card to the family announcing your memorial gift or to the one you honor with your donation to Habitat - Please provide this information where indicated on the secure online donation form, or when calling.
Hurricane Katrina Relief
Habitat Jackson's "New Neighbor Fund” has been a huge accomplishment, relocating families displaced by hurricanes to the Jackson community. In 2006, 16 homes were built as a result of your generous donations. Following this success, 2007 has seen the beginning of 17 new homes, 21 certificates of occupancy, 13 new home owners, and this year has not even reached the halfway point! Please continue to give as we have many more evacuee families in need. Go to our DONATION page to contribute to the New Neighbor Fund.
Habitat Jackson is still accepting donations for rebuilding in Hancock County on the Mississippi Coast. Prior to the hurricane, no Habitat affiliate existed in Hancock County, so Habitat Jackson will be facilitating reconstruction of the Hancock County communities hit by Hurricane Katrina.
