Weatherization
This approach will address the needs of low-income families in a more holistic manner and provide more measurable outcomes. The partnership will identify and qualify 500 low-income homes for the WAP in communities within Entergy’s service area to make their homes more energy efficient. Phase I will include 300 HFH/MJ homes in the Metro Jackson area, most of which are 10-15 years old and in need of general repair and weatherization. HFH/MJ is currently doing repairs and maintenance on some of these existing homes through a Preservation Program made possible through a grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank.
WAP focuses primarily on assisting the elderly and disabled plus low-income families with young children. Entergy Mississippi will support community awareness events and provide additional training and services to sustain the energy efficiency of the homes. |
