Since 1986, HFH/MJ has built over 470 homes in the Metro Jackson,Rankin County, and Clinton areas.
Building Community

Habitat for Humanity/Metro Jackson (HFH/MJ) has many programs aimed at improving the housing conditions of low income families here in Metro Jackson.  These programs help us to develop neighborhoods, make our community safer, connect our homeowners, restore our older HFH/MJ houses and help our houses become more energy efficient.

HFH/MJ has been building community since we began the Midtown Initiative in 1993. The Midtown Neighborhood has been transformed with 199 HFH/MJ houses, a neighborhood association and other HFH/MJ programs active in the community like the Community Safety Initiative and the Weatherization Assistance Program.

For work on Manship Street in Midtown, HFH/MJ and the Jackson Police Department received a national Community Safety Best-Practice Award in April 2010 by the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) for achievements in reducing crime and improving quality of life in Jackson neighborhoods.
