What You Need to Know about HFH/MJ Housing:

  • Habitat for Humanity is a Christian organization whose purpose is to build and sell decent, affordable housing at no profit and no interest to qualified, low-income families who need better housing.

  • Habitat for Humanity/Metro Jackson only builds housing in downtown Jackson communities, once a year in Rankin County and once a year in Clinton.  If you are interested in HFH/MJ housing but live outside of the Jackson area, visit Habitat for Humanity International's website to locate an affiliate near you.

  • HFH/MJ builds homes for qualified applicants and sells them to those applicants with a no-profit, no-interest mortgage.

  • Churches, businesses, and individuals donate money, materials, and time to HFH/Mj.  The money provides initial capital.  Donated building supplies are used when possible.  Most labor is done by HFH/MJ families themselves and other volunteers.

  • HFH/MJ does not do home repairs.  Our construction staff is constantly busy with new builds, so time does not allow our staff to repair damaged homes.
